Pockets of shrub with sparse herbs and grasses. Small shrub, usually erect, sometimes straggling, up to 2m. tall. Smelling very strongly of peppermint.Stem 3cm. at base, grey-green to red-brown,pubescent, stem very soft. Leaves: thick( not fleshy)and pubescent. Corolla : green, with dense purple pubescence, gives purple appearance inside paler and glabrous. Glands produce sweet smell, not mint-like. Det" M. G. Gilbert, 1981 05031592
