Habit etc. Srect shrub, 18* tall, multi-stemmed, stems 2!T
diam. at base, very straight. Crown pyramidal, fairly dense.
In green fr. Fr., new shoots & "leaves all sparsely tomentose.
Bark smooth bi-coloured dark - pale grey. OB*paper thin, thin*
green line, IB, pale green to granular buff (these ere young
stems),	cms.	thick.
Thinly scattered in dense, exploited ,fmutemwa,f
under Fterocarpus antunesii, Groton gratissimus, Pteleopsis
anisoptera, and scattered Baikiaea, with Croton scheffleri,
Dalbergia glandulosa, ffagara trijuga, Popowia, Combreturn eelas-
troides, ^anthlum frangula. Herbs A shade grass on floor.
Soil, "Kalahari" sand. More common in Siburm forest.
