On dry streambed in full sun. In well-drained soil of alluvial sand. Native and
common. Mountain desert.
Shrub of 1.5 m high, bark on old stems ash-white, stems and leaves grey,
covered by wax layer. Sessile, simple leaves alternate, lanceolate, 15x3 mm.
Spike with purple flowers, 2x2 mm, calyx white and hairy.
