  • Georeferencing Method

    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 23 km along the road BA-270 which connects the city of Santa Luzia to the road Una/Canavieiras (BA-001), in Mun. Canavieiras, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the city of Santa Luzia, the road Una/Canavieiras (BA-001), and the road linking Santa Luzia to BA-001, BA-270. Begining at the point along BA-270 closest to the approximate geographic center of Santa Luzia (-15.4321725 -39.330647), used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximatly 23 km (23.0003 km) along BA-270 towards BA-001. Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates for the offset. Using Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again, found the linear extent of the starting location of the offset, the city of Santa Luzia, by measuring from the selected starting coordinates near the center of the city to the farthest extent of the city. Input coordinates, linear extent (0.940544 km), measurement error (0.0005 km) and distance precicsion (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
