  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 51 km along the principal route connecting the city of Ubaitaba to the town of Maraú, BR-30 then "Avenida Ubaitaba Ou Avenida Aroaldo Lemos Vivas", in Mun. Maraú, Bahia. Beginning at the point along BR-30 closest to the approximate geographic center of the city of Ubaitaba (-14.3095477 -39.3208408), used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure ca. 49.1 km along BR-30, then ca. 1.9 km along "Avenida Ubaitaba Ou Avenida Aroaldo Lemos Vivas", for a total distance of approximately 51 km (51.00025 km) towards the town of Maraú. Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates for the offset. Using Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again, found the linear extent of the starting location of the offset, the city of Ubaitaba, by measuring from the selected coordinates near the center of the city to the farthest extent of the city. Input coordinates, linear extent (1.48328 km), measurement error (0.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset along a path.
