Roadside next to dty riverbed. Weil-drained soil of shaley sand. Full sun.
Native and occasional. Nama Karoo with Chenopodiaceae, Euphorbia sppi,
Mesembryantbemaceae, and Zygophyllum spp..
Perennial grass, 80 cm high. Leaves aitemaste, simple, elongate. 10cmx5mm.
Leaf apices hard and spiny.
