Saline depression, in full sun, permanently waterioged soil of alluvial day.
Native and locally dominant. Desert to Succulent Karoo.
Perennial grass, 40 cm high. Subterranean rhizomes, 2mm in diam. And up to 2
m long. Leaves simple, alternate, grey-green, lamina exude salt, leaf apices
pointed and sharp. Inflorescence a raceme.
