Richtersveld, Next to rugby stadium at Alexander Bay: 28° 35.717 S: 16° 28.774' E Wasteland on floodplain of estuary, soil permanently waterlogged, alluvial clayey sand, in full sun. Native and common. Desert with Polypogon, Sonchus and Phragmites australis. Shrub 2-3 x 2-3 m. Leaves alternate, simple, glabrous, leaf margins dentate.
