Coastal dune with gentle E slope, well-drained soil of aeolian windblown sand
of tertiary seabeds. Occasional. Native. Reclaimed mined sand dunes covered in
dune forest, in clearing with Solanum sodomaeum. Cynodon dactylon,
Dactyloctenium australe.
Perennial herb, 0.6 to 1 m high. Leaves opposite, simple, lanceolate, leaf margins
entire. Flowers in terminal clusters of spikes, flowers white with red markings,
small, 3 mm long.
