smooth, greyish brown, peeling off in
transverse bands of 20 cm width and
10 mm thickness. Living bark 10 mm,
dark brown. Sapwood light brown, 5 cm.
Heartwood brown to dark brown. Calyx
greenish white. Petals white, base
inside with longitudinal wine red stripes
FIs. with a strong, sweet smell. Common
on alluvials. Fr. without wings, ribbed.
