On coastal flats in full sun. In well-drained soil of coastal sand. Native and
common. Succulent Karoo.
Annual, many stemmed herb, 25-30 cm high. Taproot 8-10 cm deep. Sessile,
simple leaves alternate, linear, 20x3-4 mm, grey hairy leaves and stems.
Capitulum 1.5 cm in diameter, with purple ray florets, disc florets yellow.
