Well-drained aeolian sand of quartzite. Native and occasional. Savanna with Acacia erioioba, Chenopodium album, Rhygosum trichotomum. Perennial scrambler, stems up to 2 m long, with stem tendrils. Leaves simple but palmately lobed with five lobes, 3 x2,5 cm, glaucous, upper surfece covered with bristle hairs. Flowers solitary, pale yellow-green. Fruit cylindrical, green with yellow patches. H.
