Habítete. Low shrub, many small stems up to diam. at
base, bark smooth, pale grey-brown, woody leaf stalks drjaing
into spines. In full fir., but few plants in full leaf yet.
Firing after first rains ( 2¿,f). Poor thin crown.
Habitat A common shrub in 1,mutemwa’t in these forests,on
pale grey Kalahari sands, under Baikiaea pluri.juga,
Pterocarpus anfcunesii, with Dalbergia glandulosa, Croton
Scheffleri, etc. Firs, cream, petals die rapidly after rain.
Apparently a fire-hardy species. Common in the frequently-fin®
of Malavwe forest (esp. along the edges of the !,mutemwan) and
of Fuluwa. But not common in the fire-protected "mutemwa”.
