Full sun. Native and occasional. Grassland with Pentanisia, Setaria, Themeda triandra, Alloteropsis, Blumea, Tephrosia and Ipomoea. Perennial geophyte, 10 cm high. Leaves simple, opposite, hairy, dark green, 50x30 ram, leaf margins entire. Extensive subterranean rhizome system, with plants covering areas of 1 sq. m. H. J. Venter & A.
