    Open forest on steeply hilly terrain. Either still dominated by arborescent bamboo (Guadua) or regenerating from a bamboo die-back that began two years ago.

    Tree. Tree 18m x 24cm, low plank buttresses, outer bark brown, shed in thin irregular plates, inner bark beige- and rose-striate, latex café au lait. Fruits depressed globose, red. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
