Field Char: Large canopy tree to 30 m tall; outer
bark medium brown, pustular, inner bark
red-brown; wood yellow-brown, dense; leaves
dark green above; pubescence brown on stem
tips; fruits with rust-brown hairs.
Notes: Fruits with rust-brown hairs, aril bright
orange-red. Single sighting; bottled fruits at
BISH.
Locality: Morobe Province: Herzog Mountains,
Gabensis logging track.
Habitat: Foothill forest with mixture of
lowland and low montane taxa, old
growth on subcrest of buttress ridge.
