  • Description

    Gills pale orange yellow. annulus whitish with scales on lower surface, conspicuously striate on upper surface (where pressed against gills) very fragile. upper surface white but covered with floccose warts & spots that are dark yellowish pink (30. d.y. pink). stipe expanding downwards into a swollen bulbous base with a partially free (lip only not completely encircling slip) lip; base covered with d.y. pink floccose wars which are scarcer and less prominent or stipe above base. pileus - 15 cm broad. stipe ca. 17 cm long. near annulus ca. 2 cm dia. bulbous base ca. 6 cm dia. gills free of stalk and rounded where they meet stipe. spores amyloid 8 x 5.7 µ (H.P.) 8 x 4.6 µ. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
