FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY Plants of Philippines Clausena excavata Burm. f. (Rutaceae) Field Char.: Tree 3-8 m tall, bark blackish gray, slash white, cambium layer light pinkish brown, outer part green, bitter-tasting, Ivs aromatic with anise fragrance when crushed, frts green. Common in this site. Local Name: *Buringut* (Tagalog). Loc.: Palawan: Pto. Princesa, km 21-22 along road Pto Princesa - Aborlan. Habitat: Remnants of lowland mixed forests with Nauclea orientalis. Pandanus and Glochidion. among others. Alt. 10 m above sea level. Note: Voucher specimen for samples used for chemical and pharmacological studies. Coll.: D.D. Soejarto & E. Reynoso.
