Palau: Airai State. Eastern side of main Babeldaob
loop road (c. 4 km N of K-B Bridge), just south (80
m) of main entrance to Palau International Airport.
N 07° 21' 49.0"; B 134° 31' 54.1"; 64 m elev.
Small tree, unbranched, 3 to 3.5 m tall, 2.5-3.5 cm
dbh, growing abundantly in disturbed roadside forest.
Pseudofruits dark-purplish black. Flower buds and
flowers bright orange. Past-anthesis carpels yellow
(after corolla tubes have fallen). Fruits green to
yellow green with tinges of purple. -48-50 dichasial
units per inflorescence. Collection made after super-
typhoon Haiyan. DNA, digital image. Duplicates: 6
