Informatin given by Kidami Metele, irmakaa-agegroup and Lepilal Ole Nakuroi, irking'onde-agegroup. (35° 17' E 3° 2' S). Alt. 1550 m. May 03, 1993 Shrub. Maasai name: olchani lenkashe (enkashe ~ heifer) Decoction of root, wood and bark is mixed with meat soup by warriors at meatcamp. It is the highest estimated species for this purpose as it stops diarrhoea, which one easily gets when start eating meat. The best mixture of plant decoction to mix with meat soup is made of this species together with "oltimigomi" of 30 pieces of wood 20 cm long (olchani lenkashe c. 2-3 cm thick, oltimigomi up til 4 cm thick) is boiled in 2 litre of water for at least an hour and even a whole day, where water is added, when a part of the decoction is drunk. It is mixed with 4-5 litre of meat soup and the portion suits for c 10 persons. The mixture with "oltimigomi" is preferred as it support the men to become strong, in good condition and sexually attractive/stimulated. In the lowland "alchani lorpurkel" might be added to the two former. Decoction is also drunk without being mixed with milk or meat soup to stop diarrhoea of both human and cattle.
