from Geelhoutbos, S to Guema. 33° 40,795' S: 24° 12.488' E.
Fynbos, hill slope, soil; stony, gravel, well-drained, quartzite, full
sun, <15°gentle, NE. Restio spp., Poaceae, Leucospermum sp.,
Leucodendron sp., Helichrysum sp., Agathosma sp., Thesium sp.,
Senecio sp..
Shrub; perennial, 50-120cm, branching from a common base close
to the ground, stem; grey, very hard, with red leaf & flowering tips,
tough but brittle twiggs, leaves; minute 1x2mm erecoid sparse, only
towards end of young twiggs, single, opposite, margins entire,
flower; white, 5 petals, single or paired, terminal, ±5mm or less,
fruit; 5 lobed green/yellow capsule, inverted bell shaped, 10x5mm,
punget odour, turps like, common, native.
