On moderate eastern kloof slope in partial shade to foil sun. In well-drained soil
of granite loam. Native and occasional. Succulent Karoo.
Dwarf shrub, 60 cm high. Young stems reddish, bark purplish brown, glabrous,
wood maroon-reddish. Plants with tunicated corms, 20x17 cm, with fleshy
roots. Petioles 8-10 mm, simple leaves, alternate on brachyblasts, glabrous,
suborbicular, 10x10 mm, leaf margins dentate..
