Mey.) B.-E. van Wyk det. H. J. Venter, 2002 South Africa. Free State. Tweespruit, Thaba Patswa Mountain.: 29° 20.445' S: 27° 5.068'E On gentle western mountain slope, frill sun, in pasture. Stony to rocky soil, well- drained loam of sandstone.. Grassland with Cymbopogon plurinodes, Themeda triandra, Heteropogon contortis, Euclea ovata, Eumorphia dregeana, Lotononis sp., Elyonurus muticans and Trachypogon spicatus.. Geophytic hemi-cryptophyte, perennial, 1 m high. Trifoliately compound leaves, alternate, densely covered in silver-green hair, leaflets 8-5 mm long. Taproot about 30-40 mm thick, wedged between rocks. Flowers in axillary globose heads, all petals pastel blue. Fruit a 10 mm long pod. Plants indigenous. Abundant.. H. J. Venter & A. Venter, B.
