THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 47 MIMOSACEAE Albizia zvgia GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38,N, 1°17*W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Tree, 25m tall. Always buttressed. Bole round, straight. Very hard wood. Very brittle, smooth, brown to gray bark; spots from flaking when old. Slash orange or reddish-brown. Bipinnate leaves; leaflets 3-6 opposite pairs, terminal pair largest, narrowly elliptic. Few hairs. S.
