United States of America. Arkansas. Benton Co. Ozark Highlands. Springfield Plateau Ecoregion. N of Lake Bentonville, 0.2 mi. NW of N end of runway at Bentonville Airport. Approx. 200 ft upstream an unnamed tributary of Little Osage Creek (from SW I St.). Bentonville South 7.5' quadrangle.

Habitat
Open stream channel just downstream from beaver dam (dam has created a large, open marsh in the middle of a degraded seasonally wet prairie [former orchard, hayfield, pasture, etc.]). Growing with Elodea nuttallii.

Description
Locally common in patches. Plants submerged, except flowers/fruit which were emergent.

N of Lake Bentonvilie, 0.2 mi NW of N end of runway at Bentonville Airport. Approx. 200 ft upstream an unnamed tributary of Little Osage Creek (from SWI St.). Vicinity of N 36.35423, W 94.22150. Bentonville South 7.5' quandrangle. Open stream channel just downstream from beaver dam (dam has created a large, open marsh in the middle of a degraded seasonally wet prairie [former orchard, hayfteld, pasture, etc,]). Locally common in patches. Plants submerged, except flowers/fruit which were emergent. Growing with El odea nuttallii. This site retains a number of low prairie elements and is under consideration to be some sort of hybrid conservation/recreation area. Detailed site report prepared by T. Witsell for ANHC.
