RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN Plants of South Africa BRUNIACEAE Berzelia arachnoidea E. & Z. Schurfteberg Pass, South Africa; above road among large sandstone boulders; shrubs branched from base, to 5', fls. creamy white, red swelbng invariably at base of each peduncle; with Erica pageana. Collected with the aid of a grant from the National Science Foundation and distributed by the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Claremont, California. Fresh specimens of most of these plants were photographed in color and black-and-white Sherwin Carlquist 4646 14 September 1973 04791773
