with the firsc rains in November and is already beginning to
shed leaves. Inflorescences pale green. Bark smo^t/i with a
papery, very thin outer skin which can be rubbed of with the
hand to tfhqw. s green layer. The bark varies in colour from
silvery grey in exposed conditions, e.g. down in the Palm Grovi
gorge on the exposed basalt scree, to pale grey-brown in the
dense thicket. Individual trees can have both colours (see
:1 grave)
