New Britain, altitude 600 feet.

Habitat: Mixed primary/secondary forest.
Along side of kiap track, S.W. of Subdidi.
Annot. Tree, with numerous epiphytesi
height 70 feet.; bole 20 feet; d.b.h,
13 inches. Bark grey, with scales rather
flaky. Blaze dull pink. Wood cream.
Exudate absent. Odour bitter. Leaves
dark green to yellow green above; green
to yellow green below. Flower buds yellow-
green. Local name Asleep.
