Det. By:
Field Char: Subcanopy tree, 15-20 m tall. Bole
straight to base. Inflorescence axillary,
paniculate to nearly 10 cm length. Flowers male
(species dioecious), bright yellow.
Notes: One of three species refered to as
’guma’. Wood of all three species used for
house construction.
Locality: New Ireland; main ridge north of
Garuka Village.
Habitat: Along ridgeline.
