More or less disturbed primary forest c. 35m high, on margin and slope of deep ravine. Deep clayey volcanic soil.

Description
Tree 15 m high. Clear bole 4.5m high, 20 cm dbh, without buttresses. Outer bark 0.2--2 mm thick, brownish, not fissured, flaking off in narrow, more or less short strips. Inner bark out reddish, with fine radiating lines, in cream-coloured, without exudate. Flowers cream-coloured. Young leaves red.
