    On sandy knoll. In jack pine-white spruce forest. Floor with litter and some feather mosses and Cladonia. Shrubs: Shepherdia, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Amelanchier. Herbs: Lathyrus, Zygadenus, Geocaulon. Codominant with jack pine, but less common.
