green linear acute, spikelets pale
brown and green conical in a compo-

peduncle. Locally common on a wet
sandbank with Centenella asiatica-a
Pani cum-Panicum rep ens-Phragmi te s
mauritianus-Cyperus articulatus with
regenerating Populus ilicifolius-
Ludwigia-rare Cordia goetzii with an
outer fringe of Acacia elatior-Hyph-
aene coriacea-Tamarindus indica and
Lawsonia inermis*
