A perennial rhizothamnus herb with
bulbous based stems covered with the
brown remains of the fibrous leaf shea-
ths, leaves green slightly channelled,
spikelets white clustered in a globose
head at the apex of an obscurity 3-
angular peduncle, the leaf-like bracts
below the head 3 — 5 of variable length,
Common but scattered in Panieum spp*-
Cenchrus ciliaris-Chloris roxburghiana
-Eragrostis-Aristida grassland marginal
to Ochna inermis-Premna resinosa open
to closed thicket*
