Locality. Sepilok F.R. nr Sandakan.
Undulating lowland forest. 100 ft.
Tree 25*, branched from nr base, girth
9”. Bark smooth dark brown, with a few
small vertical lenticels; inner bark
mottled mid-brown, no white sap. Sap-
wood pale fawn. Twigs dark brown or
greyish. Lvs in spirals, to 1* long,
laurel-like texture, Iflets opp., term-
inal bud present, dull mid-green above,
paler below. Frt in slender axillary
racemes, pericarp silky, greenish-brown,
turning deep maroon, containing small
amount of white sap.
