HIST* Olematis geoxiana Boxb. Soandent and over-
topping email trees la light woods or la dense thickets
of ferjpt|e soil, at 1600 foot.; stem 1 inoh thick, round;
the greenish wood soft, odorless, with a sweet taste; hark
yellowish gray, longitudinally grooved, easily breaking;
hranohes far reaching, the freejr ends drooping, green,
freely rebranohed; twigs sabereot; leaves sabmeatbranoos,
darker groan above, horizontally recurved, the sides usually
wavy and terminating into a twisted spex; stalks of inflo-
resoenoe yellowish green, all the parts of the ereot flowers
•reamy white exoept the greenish ovaries and yellowish
