Locality:

Bukit Baka National Park. Southeast of camp along
bank of Sungai Ella.

Habitat:
Mixed dipterocarp forest, associates include
Euphorbiaceae, Dilleniaceae, Myrtaceae,
Burseraceae. Red clay soil.
Field Char:
Tree 12 m tall, 14 cm dbh. Outer bark brown,
flaking. Inner bark light yellowish-brown. Leaves
coriaceous, light green beneath, deeply ribbed. Mid-
rib raised on both sides. Fruit oblong, base pale pink,
maturing red with waxy substance covering fruit.
