Field char: Tree 10 m tall, dbh 15 cm. Lower
bright dark green. Twig bark purplish-brown.
Most fruit immature, subglobose, +/- pale
green-yellow with whitish bloom, sticky inside.
Notes: Mature fruit c. 8 mm diameter,
purple-black.
Locality: Sumatra: Sekundur Forest Reserve, E.
side of Gunung Leuser Natural Park, Langkat,
Prov. of North Sumatra. Base camp at Aras
Napal, upper Besitang River area.
Habitat: Primary lowland forest on undulating
land; yellow-brown mixed sand-clay
soil; well drained,
