Habitat
Remnants of chaco forest, with Phyllostylon rhamnoides, Acanthosyris falcata, Aspidospermum quebracho-blanco, Ruprechtia triflora, with small temporary roadside pond, surrounded by pastures and cultivated fields. Flat, clay soil.

Description
Erect herbs in open disturbed soil. Stem strongly angled. Flowers nodding; corolla light yellow with yellowish-brown ring in base, but without discreet spots. Fruiting calyx 10-nerved, nearly terete, green, the nerves dark purple. Many fallen fruit in the enclosing calyx are on ground beneath the plants.
