Talawe, S.W. slope, Talasea, New Britain, ^altitude 2,600 ft. Lat. 5 32 S Long. 148 18 E Habitat: Montane forest - Calophyllum (26854) and Podocarpus (26855) abundant. Annot. Tree; buttresses absent; height 40 feet; d.b.h. 6 inches. Bark grey, shallowly fissured. Blaze orange, strongly channeled. Wood pale orange; rays prominent. Odour sour. Exudate absent. Leaves green on upper surface; green on lower surface. Fruit dark green. Fam. Erythroxylaceae Name: cf Erythroxylum Dupl. sent to: L. Bri. Canb. A 04390936
