Habitat: Sago; at edge of river, swamp
forest. Altitude 5 feet.
Annoto Tree; may reach 120 feet in
height> height 50 feet, bole 30 feet,
d.b.h. 12 inches. Bark light brown,
scaly, lenticular; blaze red to reddish
white. Young sapwood cream, turning
gradually to dark red with age. Exudate
absent. Fruits valves green.
