Hardly disturbed primary forest up to 35
m high. Terrain somewhat sloping, deep
clayey volcanic soil.
Tree 20 m high. Clear bole 40 cm, 3 m
high. Outer bark 0.3 mm thick, brownish
with elevated lenticells, hardly fissur-
ed, flaking off in scales.Inner bark 7
mm thick, on section out mottled ochrish
and violetish, in cream-coloured with
little white exudate.
Vem. Deango (Bolaang Mongondow lang.).
Used against malaria. Bark boiled,
extract (very bitter) used as medicine.
