Small tree with puberulent twigs. Leaves alternate, ovate-cordate, up to 12 or more
cm. long, pinnately veined, base oblique, apex acuminate, petioles mostly less than 1 cm.
long, puberulent. Fruit about 5 mm. thick, short pedunculate.
In forested areas (9627). Native name, mati.
