    damp soil on the slope, secondary forest.

  • Description

    Tree ± 20 m high, 40 cm diam. Dead bark up to 5 mm think, roughish, chocolate. Living bark ± 1 cm thick, fibrous, pale brown, lighter towards centre, rays conspicuous, white. Wood reddish pale brown, gradually paler towards outside, soft. Lobes white, centre basal part red, calyx tube red outside and inside. Androgynophore greenish. Rachis of inflorescence covered by red hairs.
