Subtropical evergreen broadleaf forest. Disturbed by felling. Subtropical evergreen broadleaf forest disturbed by fire and fellong. Dominated by Lithocarpus, Castanopsis, Rhododendron, Bamboo, Symplocos. Growing of edge of clearing(tomb side), in sun. In loam on slate.

Evergreen tree ca. 14 m tall. Anthers yellow, rachis green. Common.
