    Tree 8m high, bark brown or gray on the younger branches, smooth or with minute lenticles; wood moderately hard, white, closely grained; branches crooked and rather stiff; leaves coraceous, usually deflexed and conduplicate on the upper side, paler green beneath; inflorescence mostly terminal but frequently from the branches divaricately branched; calyx yellowish green, reflexed, stamens light yellow; flowers deciduous.
