    Large spreading trees 18m high; wood white, moderately hard, old bark scaling irregularly, densely lenticelled, that on the branches smoother and mottled; flat leaves descending, subcoriaceous, shining green above, subglaucous beneath; inflorescence terminal or subterminal, paniculate, erect or ascending, 1 to 2 feet long or much less than 1 foot; buds dull pink; corolla whitish, strongly deflexed and caducous; filaments of the same color but anthers lemon yellow.
