Description
Large tree; stem 8 feet thick, 40 to 50 foot high, branched toward the top and forming an umbrella shaped crown; bark yellowish brown, scaling in plates checked longitudinally; wood moderately hard, odorless and tasteless, sappy or yellowish white; leaves coriaceous, flat or only shallowly and curvingly conduplicate upon the upper semilucid side, ashy gray or grayish green beneath, horizontally spreading, the young ones pendulous and reddish: panicles greenish brown; calyx reddish; corolla white; so are the filaments; anthers light yellow.
