Habitat
Mixed conifer forest with sparse shrubs in open areas at bottom of old cadera. Assoc. Salix, Ribes, Lupinus. Abundant perennial in open disturbed areas, often near washes. Soil volcanic ash.

Flowers deep red with white streaks in throat. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
