Talasea, New Britain, altitude 1,700 ft.

Habitat: Lower montane forest (partially
disturbed).
Annot. Small tree; buttresses absent.
Height 30 feet; d.b.h. 5 inches. Bark
grey, rough, with horizontal fissures;
lenticels large» numerous. Blaze pale
brown. Wood straw. Odour and exudate
absent. Leaves dark green on upper
surface; green on lower surface. Flower
buds green. Local name Nakaiuos.
