Tangis, ridge below rim of crater, Talasea, New Britain, alt.3000- Lat> 5 39 S Long.148 18 4,500 ft. Habitat: Cloud forest, Podocarpus/ Dacrydium elaturn dominated ridge. Annot. Small tree, without buttresses. Can reach 60 ft. high. Not common; height 20 feet, d.b.h. 3 inches. Bark dark red-brown, horizontally ribbed, shallowly fissured,»peeling very slight- ly. Lenticels scattered, raised. Blaze dull red. Wood orange to yellow. Odour and exudate absent. Leaves green on f both surfaces. Fam. Podocarpaceae Name: Podocarpus imbricatus Dupl. sent to: L. Bri.
